Driftwood has always been a quiet place. Too quiet for many; just right for a few. This is a part of Texas where aimless driving is a recreational activity. Driftwood never fails to produce feelings of discovery when it first comes into view.
Driftwood is also home to The Salt Lick, a relatively well-known barbecue restaurant and the Lazy 8 Ranch which had its dry mix products featured by the Texas Department of Agriculture in the 2010 Texas State Fair.
